The benefits of Echinacea were first discovered back in 1870 and by 1907 Echinacea had developed to be the most popular herb in medical practice in the USA, among both Eclectic and regular medical doctors.

Greenridge is currently the largest grower and producer of Echinacea in the southern hemisphere. The first Echinacea crop was produced in 1987, at a time when the general public in Australia was not familiar with Echinacea and there were few or no products available. The range was developed and based around people with symptoms that Echinacea could help.

Echinacea has the ability to raise the body's resistance to bacterial and viral infections.

Major effects:
Stimulates the white blood cells that help fight infection.
Enhances the body's ability to dispose of bacteria, infected and damaged cells and harmful chemicals. Promotes general cellular immunity. Interferon-like-action - helps prevent and control viral infections.

Contra indications

  • If allergic or sensitive to the Daisy family.
  • Not recommended in progressive systemic disorders or autoimmune diseases, such as tuberculosis, leukoses, collagenoses, mutiple sclerosis, AIDS, HIV infection
Dosage
Adult:
Maintenance Dose: 2.5ml once a day
  • Acute conditions: 2.5ml three times a day Greenridge Cold Relief can be taken with fruit juice to make it more palatable. Apple and/or blackcurrent are found to taste good.
  • Researches have found that Echinacea works best over a ten-day course, with maximum immune stimulation coming between 3 to 6 days after the first dose is taken.
  • It is important that treatment with Echinacea is continued for 48 hours after the symptoms of a cold flu or infection disappear, to avoid relapse.
  • Duration of treatment should not exceed 8 weeks, before a break.
  • The optimum time to take liquid herbal formulas is before meals on an empty stomach.
